Hi Friends! I've never done this before...no, REALLY... I am creating this blog to vent over things that really annoy me, like when people come into the restaurant where I work and use my table as their own private office and conduct meetings for hours while only ordering iced tea and an order of fries to share DURING THE DINNER RUSH!!! People, I make my living from these few tables, and when you take up one for so long, you are taking money out of my pocket and I have to smile and refill your stupid iced tea!!!! I could make anywhere from 5 to 50 dollars an hour on that table, but with you there, I don't get that chance! Your business is not more important than mine, especially when you are in my section. I don't come into your office and sit down and take over. If I am in your office, it would be to conduct business with you. YOUR business. I would not take my friends and have lunch on your desk for a few hours. If you take over my table, pay rent! I need to pay my bills, too. I am trying to make a living here. Quit being so selfish. Go to your office. I welcome the business lunch. That's great. But eat, talk, have desert and coffee and leave. I know I am rambling here, but I get so MAD about this. I wish I could just tell these clueless guests how inconsiderate they are being...

  1. That's ridiculous! You see this happen often. Most the time in Starbucks or cafes. People bring their laptops and sit there for hours sipping their lattes with a text book or some literature sitting on their table so you think they're deep into something important when really, they're re-writing their daily grocery list or updating their to-do list. I'm sure their calendar entry reads something like "today, again, I have nothing to do so map out all the nearest cafes with wi-fi, go there, order usual Latte, find a seat by the window so I can gaze outside as I pretend to think... ...there, thought rendered, now look at laptop screen, squint eyes, exhale and look frustrated... ...hold that look, ok release, turn textbook on table to random page, leave open, repeat." I was not aware this also occurs in restaurants.
